56. Bok Croatia

Discovering the Dalmation coast was well worth it. Dubrovnik was my introduction to Croatia, a warm and welcoming country. I already can’t wait to visit other cities. From arriving in the airport, the driver was polite and told us about the local landmarks through the elevated and windy roads. Everywhere you look, there’s a bit of blue in Dubrovnik inviting you to the Adriatic Sea.

Our first stop was the Museum of Modern Art, Dubrovnik, Mainly because I was curious after 80 years how far they have come as a nation in terms of art. Also, it seemed a good idea to cool off inside. Since it was super hot and humid, we indulged with a Banje Beach beverage. Before entering the City Walls of the Old Town, it’s best to stop by a Bankomat if one needs to pay in cash. Then we were off to see Palaca Sponza, Peppino’s (great gelato!) Stradun, Pile Gate, alleyways and a beautiful church.

It truly felt like a magical day. I loved exploring the historical elements and observing others fall in love with the city too. For lunch, we dined at Marco Polo. I would definitely recommend. The ambience, food and service were exceptionally excellent.

During the afternoon, we opted for drinks. First stop was Buža Bar. It’s a fun spot. Be mindful that it’s cash only and for those not afraid of heights. And if you’re feeling even more adventurous, one can sip beers and then jump off the cliff into the beautiful blue sea. Rather refreshing. To cool down further, we explored Cave Bar More. It’s in a unique setting. Yep you guessed it, a cave!

At the end of the day, we were on holiday. We like to have fun and figured why not. It’s like nothing I’ve ever done before. You should try it too!
