57. Captivating Cyprus
Summer is that time of year when it’s great to get away, even if for a day. We spun the globe around and pointed a finger. It landed on Cyprus. All we had to do was pick the city. We booked a flight to a hot and humid escape. Just kidding, Paphos is surrounded by water with a constant cool breeze.
Loved every moment of it. Would definitely recommend the Archaeological Museum which holds five rooms of history from the ancient Neolithic era. For authentic Cypriot cuisine, the Kings restaurant has a wide array of options from breads and vegetables to grilled mixed meats. To walk off the delighful meal, we went to explore the Paphos Castle and UNESCO World Heritage Site called Kato Paphos Archaeological Park. This includes the remains of Neo Paphos which is Aphrodite’s Sacred City. Then there was an Instagram photo opportunity, the amazing ‘I Love Paphos’ sign. After that, I met up with an old university friend, Chris for drinks and club vibes at Cabana Beach Bar. Wonderful way to end our Saturday escape. Highly recommend to visit this island destination.
